Holiday Office Hours: Nelson & Creston Offices – Closed December 25, 2025 – January 1, 2026. Reopening January 2, 2026. Nakusp Office – Closed December 22, 2025 – January 4, 2026. Reopening January 5, 2026.
The RDCK provides building permit inspection services for Electoral Areas A to K. For inspections in Castlegar, Creston, Nelson, New Denver, Salmo, and Slocan contact the municipality directly.

Three business days notice is required when booking an inspection. It is the responsibility of the owner or designated representative to call or email for inspections as construction proceeds.
Required building inspections: please note that not all permits require every type of inspection.
To provide a seamless and positive experience, the RDCK Building Department has introduced a new centralized email address for booking building permit inspections. Inspections can still be booked by phone, ensuring the public can easily access inspection services through various channels.
