The Regional District of Central Kootenay is inviting Tenders for construction of upgrades at the Ootischenia Landfill Septage Facility.

The RDCK is seeking proposals for the supply of snow removal and maintenance services for the Slocan Transfer Station and Recycling Deport, starting on December 1, 2026.

The RDCK is looking for qualified professionals to construct an accessible trail at the Creston & District Community Complex (CDCC). The trail will connect the upper parking and the sports field spectator area and the outdoor washroom building. The trail will have at least one switchback, change of direction and be built according to best accessible trail standards.

Key Engineering Standard for the CDCC Connection

To accommodate strollers, wheelchairs, and visitors with limited mobility moving from the complex’s indoor facilities to outdoor spaces, the connection must meet strict geometric and structural constraints:

• Clear Trail Width: Minimum 1.5 metres (1500 mm) clear width to allow side-by-side passage and smooth maneuvering. If constraints narrow the path at any point, construct flat passing spaces (2.0 m × 2.0 m) at least every 100 metres.
• Surface Stability: The surface must be firm and stable year-round. While asphalt or concrete are ideal for rec centre plazas, hard-packed crushed aggregate (fines well-graded, maximum particle size 13 mm) is highly suitable. At least 90% of the trail must resist wheel indentations.
• Running Slope (Grade): Keep the grade at or below 5% (1:20) for the vast majority of the path. Under BC standards, steeper exceptions are permitted only for brief intervals with flat resting zones:
  • 5% to 8%: Maximum continuous segment of 20 metres.
  • 8% to 12%: Maximum continuous segment of 10 metres.
  • Resting Intervals: Provide a flat, level resting pad at least 2 metres long before and after any segment exceeding a 5% grade.
• Cross Slope: Keep the lateral drainage slope strictly at or below 2% to prevent manual wheelchairs from pulling dangerously to one side.

The RDCK is seeking qualified firms to undertake tree removal at the Creston Landfill in preparation for closure operations in 2027.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) is requesting information from interested parties to provide Aquafit Classes at the Castlegar & District Community Complex.

Aquafit classes are 45 to 60 minutes in length and are scheduled within the Complex’s published aquatic schedule. The Castlegar & District Community Complex anticipates a requirement of approximately 2-4 classes per week.

The successful consultant will implement the Stronger Together – Creston Valley Economic Action Strategy, coordinate regional initiatives, and drive measurable outcomes for the community.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to support the implementation of a regional Emergency Support Services (ESS) volunteer recruitment and retention campaign. ESS provides short-term assistance to people impacted by emergencies and disasters and is delivered locally through volunteer-led teams. Through this initiative, the RDCK aims to increase awareness of ESS, attract qualified new volunteers, strengthen volunteer engagement and retention, and enhance volunteer capacity within priority teams, while providing reusable resources that can support future recruitment efforts.

This assignment is focused on campaign implementation and delivery rather than the development of a new ESS strategy or program framework. The RDCK will provide campaign direction and source content related to the ESS program, volunteer roles, onboarding processes, and operational requirements. The successful consultant will be responsible for translating this information into clear, accessible, and visually consistent campaign materials, developing a practical campaign delivery plan, coordinating campaign activities, and supporting both recruitment and volunteer retention objectives.
