Lister Water System Public Meeting

The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) invites Lister Water System users to a public meeting to discuss the 2025 water rates and ongoing system challenges – we would like to hear your concerns and answer your questions. Please spread the word to your neighbours who may not be subscribers to the Voyent alert system.

The Lister Water System, serving 196 connections and supporting over $24 million in critical infrastructure, faces significant capital asset renewal needs. Much of the original system was constructed with non-standard piping that does not meet current water construction standards and has a high frequency of failure. An asset management plan has identified a substantial backlog of necessary waterline replacements. A 30% rate increase for 2025 has been identified to support the 2025 Financial Plan and to ensure the long-term sustainability of the water service. We encourage all users to attend, discuss rates, future plans and also learn about the system.
