Evacuation Order downgraded to an Evacuation Alert for Village of Silverton - Evacuation Order rescinded for Wilson Creek wildfire - Evacuation Alert rescinded for Village of New Denver

Nelson, BC: On the recommendation of the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has downgraded the Evacuation Order for the Village of Silverton (185 properties) and 17 properties in the surrounding area in Electoral Area H to an Evacuation Alert due to the Aylwin Creek wildfire.
As well, the Evacuation Order for the Wilson Creek wildfire has been rescinded for 12 properties and four Parcel Identifiers (PIDs) and the Evacuation Alert for the Village of New Denver (421 properties) and 159 properties and 114 PIDs in the surrounding area of Electoral Area H has been rescinded. BCWS has now categorized the Wilson Creek wildfire as under control. See below for maps and address lists.

All properties south of the Village of Silverton, including the Village of Slocan will remain on Evacuation Order due to the Slocan Lake Complex wildfire. 653 properties and 198 PIDs remain on Evacuation Order due to the Slocan Lake Complex.
The Slocan Lake Fire Complex includes the Aylwin Creek wildfire, Komonko Creek wildfire, Wilson Creek wildfire, Ponderosa wildfire, Mulvey Creek wildfire, and Nemo Creek wildfire. A complex is created when multiple wildfires are managed by a single Incident Management Team, and resources and equipment are shared between all incidents in the complex.

Portion of Aylwin Creek wildfire – Evacuation Order downgraded to an Evacuation Alert
185 properties in the Village of Silverton, plus another 17 properties in Electoral Area H have been on Evacuation Order since July 24 due to the Aylwin Creek wildfire (part of the Slocan Lake Complex). All 203 properties will now be on Evacuation Alert and need to remain vigilant and prepared to leave the area at a moment’s notice.
Wilson Creek wildfire – Evacuation Order and Evacuation Alert rescinded
Those residents no longer on Evacuation Order or Alert include all properties north of Village of Silverton through to Rosebery. This include 421 properties in the Village of New Denver, plus 159 properties in Electoral Area H, as well as 114 Parcel Identifiers (PIDs). The Village of New Denver has been on Evacuation Alert due to the Wilson Creek wildfire (part of the Slocan Lake Complex) since July 25.
