he RDCK is committed to offering courses to support the continued growth and succession of lifeguards, swim instructors, fitness instructors and personal trainers in the region. A career in recreation provides valuable leadership, communication and teamwork skills.

Become a Lifeguard or Instructor

Interested in accessing subsidies for lifesaving courses? Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and National Lifeguarding courses are offered at no cost, until the end of 2024, to reduce the barrier of entry to become a lifeguard.
