Regional Parks & Trails

The parks systems consists of 23 Regional Parks and 3 Regional Trails. We manage over 525 hectares (1300 acres) of parkland for the public to enjoy.



We would like your feedback so that we can continue to improve the quality of your park experience!


Parks & Trails Status:

Unless noted here, all of our Regional Parks and Trails are open.

Glacier Creek Regional Park

August 3, 2021: An Area Restriction Order is now in effect for the B-Flat Peak Area. In the interest of the public and responder safety, this restriction is effective immediately.

July 30, 2021: Current Water Quality Advisory is issued for the portable water tap. Park Users are recommended to pack in water for their use. 

Nelson-Salmo Great Northern Trail

July 26, 2021: Trail closed between Hall Creek and Salmo to all motorized use due to extreme wildfire danger.

Taghum Beach
Regional Park

June 1, 2021: NEW - No dogs on beach during the period
June 1 - September 15. Dogs must be on a leash and under
control at all other times.

Crawford Bay

May 13, 2021: New beach access road and parking is now complete. 

Waterloo Eddy

Regional Park

May 13, 2021: Boat launch access has been modified.

Regional Park

April 27, 2021: Continuation of park development is occuring 
this Spring. Park is open during this work, car parking may be
limited to complete the work.

Currently our Regional Parks and Trails remain open. If you feel sick or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, stay home. Our park staff are evaluating the current COVID-19 situation daily and will continue to do so over the coming weeks. Additional signage may be posted in parks.

Park Amenity Donations

Contributions to the Regional District of Central Kootenay's (RDCK) Amenity Donation Program enhances the enjoyment of regional parks and trails. Celebrate friends, family and memorable events with an inscribed plaque on a donated bench or picnic table.
