Regional Parks & Trails
The parks systems consists of 23 Regional Parks and 3 Regional Trails. We manage over 525 hectares (1300 acres) of parkland for the public to enjoy.

Sunshine Bay Regional Park |
March 22, 2022: Partial closure of dock due to safety concerns. The boat launch is still open and accessible. Repairs to be made once water levels allow for floating of entire dock. |

Waterloo Eddy Regional Park |

Rosebery to Three Forks Regional Trail (Galena Trail) |
October 14, 2020: Partial closure due to cable car closure. |
Nelson Salmo Great Northern Trail |
September 20, 2021: Drilling and blasting operations are occurring South of Cottonwood wood lake South to the crossing of Hwy 6 at Busk. Flaggers will be on-site closing the trail during blasting. Closures could be up to 15 minutes occurring one or two times a day during weekdays. |
Cottonwood Lake Regional Park |
November 29, 2021: The road to Cottonwood will be closed intermittently starting November 29, 2021 for parking lot upgrades. Park users are asked to please park at the Great Northern trailhead and walk into the park if the road is barricaded. |
Let's keep our Parks open by staying safe
Currently our Regional Parks and Trails remain open. If you feel sick or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, stay home. Our park staff are evaluating the current COVID-19 situation daily and will continue to do so over the coming weeks. Additional signage may be posted in parks.

Park Amenity Donations
Contributions to the Regional District of Central Kootenay's (RDCK) Amenity Donation Program enhances the enjoyment of regional parks and trails. Celebrate friends, family and memorable events with an inscribed plaque on a donated bench or picnic table.
