In 2020, the RDCK Board of Directors approved a request by the Electoral Area ‘H’ local area Director to review the Area ‘H’ North Official Community Plan (OCP). The current OCP covers all portions of Area H north of Slocan City. All portions of Area H south of Slocan City are not included in the OCP area.

Planning staff will begin reviewing the current OCP by hosting open houses in the spring of 2022.

The purpose of the public open houses will be for RDCK staff to provide more information on the different kinds of land use planning tools available to Area H North residents (OCPs, Zoning Bylaws, Development Permit Areas, other planning tools). Additionally, the open houses will be an opportunity to hear from Area H residents about their specific concerns, discuss whether the current OCP effectively addresses those concerns, and whether residents think additional planning tools could be of benefit to the communities in Area H North.
