Recreation Commission 10 (Area E East)

Recreation Commission 10 is a local commission established by the RDCK Board to operate the Recreation Program Local Service in Area E East between Kokanee Provincial Park and Coffee Creek, including Harrop and Procter.  The Recreation Commission has the mandate to provide financial contributions to groups providing recreational programs on behalf of the commission.

Grant Information
Eligible non-profit organizations, societies, and clubs serving the Electoral Area E East Local Service Recreation Commission area may apply for recreation program or project funding.

Application Evaluation Criteria:

  • The applicant has demonstrated that there is a significant need for this project and it fills a gap that is not currently covered or duplicated by other services within their community. (i.e., Lake access, trail maintenance, Art/Theatre)
  • The project plays a unique role specific to the community.  The project serves and involves the community.
  • The budget has included admission/registration fees.
  • The applicant has leveraged additional resources. (i.e., capital project has matching funds for requested amount)
  • Final Reports are up to date and complete.
  • Is this a new applicant (higher score)?  Is this a repeat candidate (lower score)?

There are two grant cycles per year:

1. Spring – for projects/programs running in Summer and Fall
2. Fall – for projects/programs running in Winter and Spring

Who can apply:  

  • Non-Profit Community Groups in RDCK Area E East (Balfour/Harrop/Procter/Queens Bay/Long Beach), or organizations providing services in Area E East.
  • Individuals or groups will apply under the sponsorship of an eligible community organization. 
  • Programs or projects must be completed in Area E – East.

Deadline for applications:

  • Spring: Email applications by 4pm March 30th, 2017
  • Fall: Email applications by 4pm October 26th, 2017

Final Financial Report – Report Requirements
Organizations in receipt of Recreation 10 funding are required to submit a final financial report for each project supported with Recreation 10 funding.  The report must be completed in its entirety including financial statement information, project outcome details, and accompanied by copied of receipts/invoices that provides details and proof of how all the funding was utilized.  Project expenditures supported by Recreation 10 funding need to have incurred during the noted project period.
