RE: Merry Creek Wildfire (N51165)

The Merry Creek Wildfire, located 8 kilometres SW of Castlegar, remains active, but is 70% contained according to BC Wildfire Service (BCWS). There was no fire growth overnight. An evacuation order from the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) remains in place for 31 properties and an Evacuation Alert for one property in Electoral Area J.
