DESCRIPTION:The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) invites Lister Water System users to a public meeting to discuss the 2025 water rates and ongoing system challenges – we would like to hear your concerns and answer your questions. Please spread the word to your neighbours who may not be subscribers to the Voyent alert system. \nThe Lister Water System\, serving 196 connections and supporting over $24 million in critical infrastructure\, faces significant capital asset renewal needs. Much of the original system was constructed with non-standard piping that does not meet current water construction standards and has a high frequency of failure. An asset management plan has identified a substantial backlog of necessary waterline replacements. A 30% rate increase for 2025 has been identified to support the 2025 Financial Plan and to ensure the long-term sustainability of the water service. We encourage all users to attend\, discuss rates\, future plans and also learn about the system.

DESCRIPTION:The RDCK is hosting a Spring Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Round-Up Event at the Creston Landfill\, 1501 Mallory Road on Sunday May 4\, 2025 from 10 am to 2 pm. \nAs this event will be well attended\, your patience with both the traffic and the process will be much appreciated. \nPlease use the site map provided below to make yourself familiar with the traffic flow of the event this year. Traffic controllers will also be on site to assist. \n\nCreston Landfill HHW Site Map\n\nPlease note that if you miss this spring event\, the RDCK is also hosting a Fall event in Creston in September 2025. DESCRIPTION:The RDCK and Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) host Trash-to-Treasure (T2T) days during Earth Week in April and Waste Reduction Week in October. \n\n2025 T2T Dates:\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, April 26th\, 2025\n\n\n\nSaturday\, October 18th\, 2025\n\n\n\n\nHow to Participate:\n\n\n\n\nCollect unwanted items from around your home.\nCreate a sign to let treasure hunters know that your items are up for grabs.\n\n\n\nPlace items in front of your home where treasure hunters can access them safely. Do not dump items on street corners or in front of other properties.\n\n\n\n\n\nRemove all remaining items by 4:00 pm to keep your street clean!\n\n\n\n\nThis 1-day event is your chance to help reduce waste by giving away your used household items and claiming old treasures from your neighbours! \nFor more information\, visit our Trash to Treasure page.
