RE: Merry Creek Wildfire (N51165)
The Merry Creek Wildfire, located 8 kilometres SW of Castlegar, is 100 per cent contained and is currently listed as being held by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS). This wildfire is no longer listed as a wildfire of note. The general public is reminded that most of the fire occurred on private land and the area is an active work zone. The public must stay clear of the area to allow for crews to continue their work. Pay attention to road signs on Forest Service Roads (FSRs) and highways surrounding the affected area and check DriveBC for any updates or interruptions.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay rescinded the Evacuation Order for 31 properties and the Evacuation Alert for one property on July 3 at 12:30 pm due to the Merry Creek Wildfire. Visit www.rdck.ca/eocinfo for the complete details and Facebook and Twitter for regular updates.
