Zwicky Road, Kaslo Landslide - Evacuation Order Continues for Six Homes

After further monitoring and assessment of the landslide above Zwicky Road just outside of Kaslo, the Regional District of Central Kootenay is extending the State of Local Emergency for another week until May 1st. The evacuation order for the six homes located beneath the landslide will also remain in place for another week as geotechnical engineers continue to monitor the landslide.

The RDCK is still reviewing the report received from geotechnical engineers on Thursday April 20th and more information regarding the report will be made available at the public meeting tomorrow, Monday April 24th at 6pm. The public meeting will be held at the Kaslo Royal Canadian Legion Hall, located at 403 5th Street in Kaslo.
