UPDATE: Status of Current Wildfires in the RDCK

At this time, BC Wildfire Service reports the Rapid Creek wildfire has increased in size to 750 hectares without added threat to the community. McCormick Creek, Harrop Creek and Morley Creek wildfires have not had any significant growth overnight and throughout the day. Fire crews are making clear and steady progress at creating fire breaks and reaching a state of containment within the next few days, weather conditions permitting.
All Evacuation Orders and Evacuation Alerts remain in place including the following:
Rapid Creek Wildfire – Evacuation Alert
McCormick Creek Wildfire – Evacuation Order
McCormick Creek Wildfire – Evacuation Alert

The RDCK will not be providing further updates over the weekend unless significant changes occur or the Evacuation Alerts or Orders are being rescinded.
