Shambhala Closing Early Due to Wildfire Risk

After extensive consultation with the RDCK EOC, RCMP, BCEHS and MOTI, the Shambhala Music Festival organizers have decided to close the Shambhala Music Festival early this year.  While there is no immediate threat to the festival or its attendees, it was agreed that it would be in the best interest of the Shambhala attendees to allow adequate time to vacate the area safely.

Programming for Saturday evening will continue as planned, however we encourage guests to make necessary preparations for an efficient exit of the site by getting a head start on packing up their campsite and belongings.

Due to wildfire threats we encourage that festival goers head straight home and not to linger in the area.

All ferries will be running throughout the evenings to allow for efficient departures.

As there are multiple wildfires in the area local emergency services have asked that everyone head straight home and not to linger in the area.As there are multiple wildfires in the area local emergency services have asked that everyone head straight home and not to linger in the area.

The RDCK EOC will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
