Public Information Meeting - Rapid Creek Wildfire

The Regional District of Central Kootenay and the BC Wildfire Service will be hosting a Public Information Meeting for Poplar Creek residents in the vicinity of the Rapid Creek wildfire. The intent of the meeting is to inform residents on the status of the wildfire and answer any questions or concerns in this regard.
The meeting will be held at the Lardeau Valley Community Centre in Meadow Creek on August 30th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
Representatives from the BC Wildfire Service, the Regional District of Central Kootenay, and possibly the RCMP will be in attendance.
All RDCK residents, businesses, and visitors in the area are encouraged to sign up to the RDCK Emergency Alert system which will inform users of evacuation alerts and orders in the event of an emergency or disaster: http://www.rdck.ca/EN/main/services/emergency-management/emergency-alerts.html
