Community Recovery Resources

RDCK Community Recovery Resource Hub

In the wake of the wildfires that impacted the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) during the summer of 2024, our community is coming together to rebuild and recover. The RDCK is committed to supporting residents, businesses, and community groups through this challenging time with a focus on the principle of “Build Back Better.”

This page will serve as a central hub for all community recovery resources, updates, and information, including documents like the RDCK Community Recovery Information Bulletin. The bulletin provides an overview of our recovery efforts, which began even as the fires were still ongoing. Through resiliency centres, provincial funding, and collaborations with local experts, we’ve been able to support the ongoing recovery process through dedicated working groups. Our efforts cover critical areas such as economics, social well-being, and effective communication.

We’ll continue to work closely with community members, local agencies, and provincial partners, ensuring that resources are accessible and that recovery projects are carried out effectively. Monthly updates and key resources related to the recovery process will be shared here, offering insight into our progress and upcoming initiatives.

We encourage all community members to engage with the resources available, stay informed, and reach out if you have specific questions or need further assistance. Together, we will rebuild stronger, more resilient communities.
