RDCK Board approve COVID-19 vaccination policy

Nelson, BC:  The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Board of Directors voted in favour of adopting a COVID-19 vaccination policy effective immediately. The policy is an enhanced safety measure with the objective of mitigating the potential for spread of COVID-19.

Employees and fire services volunteers must provide proof they are fully vaccinated by December 3, 2021, or will be required to meet enhanced safety measures to be able to work inside at any RDCK worksite (facilities, offices, fire departments). This may include, but not be limited to, wearing masks at all times when working indoors.

“The RDCK is committed to ensuring the health and safety of its employees, volunteers and members of the public,” said Stuart Horn, RDCK Chief Administrative Officer. “A lot of effort went in to creating a policy that would keep people safe and still working. We believe this policy has found a balance that respects the diverse needs of our employees and the community, but above all ensures nobody will lose their job based on their decisions or personal situations related to vaccination.”
