Stage 2 Water Conservation Measures in Effect for Balfour Water System
July 31, 2017
Effective immediately, mandatory Stage 2 Water Conservation Measures are being implemented in the Balfour Water System. High water demand has resulted in low reservoir levels, which requires Balfour Water Users to conserve water.
STAGE 2 WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES include:
- Watering of lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs is ONLY permitted between 6:00am-10:00am and 8:00pm-10:00pm.
- Watering of gardens, trees and shrubs by watering can or hand-held hose is still permitted anytime.
The RDCK appreciates Balfour water users’ cooperation in adhering to the above water conservation measures. Stage 2 Water Conservation Measures will remain in effect until further notice and stricter water conservation measures may be required if demand increases significantly, or if hot and dry weather prevails.
Balfour water users can sign up for the RDCK’s new water notification service, to receive notices about the water system’s water quality, system maintenance activities, and water conservation by telephone call and/or text message, at www.rdck.ca/water.
