Free Firesmart Assessment Reduce the Risk of Wildfire Near Your Home
June 23, 2017
The Regional District of Central Kootenay would like to invite residents to participate in a FireSmart assessment of their home exterior and property.
Wildfires are a natural part of British Columbia’s ecosystems. Living where wildfires can occur may put your home at risk, but it is possible to reduce the potential impacts on your home and property from these natural events.
The recommendations of the FireSmart assessment will help inform residents how to reduce the risk of wildfire near their homes and provide a better opportunity to defend their property from a wildfire.
RDCK FireSmart Ambassadors will be completing assessments during the following weeks:
Area A: August 24 - 30
Area B: August 31 - September 6
Area C: September 7 -13
Area D: July 6 - 12
Area E: August 3 - 9
Area F: June 28 - July 5
Area G: July 27 - August 2
Area H: August 10 - 16
