Evacuation Order Reduced in Slocan Valley

After extensive consultation with flood assessors and other pertinent government agencies, the Regional District of Central Kootenay is reducing the Evacuation Order for some properties in the Slocan Valley to an Evacuation Alert. This is due to continuous water level monitoring and infrastructure improvements to ensure public safety. Residents in an Evacuation Alert area should be prepared to evacuate if necessary.

The properties that remain on Evacuation Order are:

  • 6315 Picard Rd
  • 6316 Picard Rd
  • 6268 Picard Rd

Residents are advised to stay away from riverbanks and fast flowing water.
