Area J OCP Review in 2017
August 26, 2016
Residents of Electoral Area J will get a chance to share their vision of their community’s future when the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) reviews the Official Community Plan (OCP) in 2017.
An OCP serves as a guide to the public, the RDCK, and the development community in decision-making for land use. The document contains community visions and principles, goals, growth management policies and strategies, and steps for implementation. The pending review is hoped to address land use issues that have been brought to staff and the elected official’s attention over the past few years.
“I encourage all residents of Area J to participate in the upcoming OCP review, through surveys and public meetings,” said Rick Smith, Director of Electoral Area J. “Your input will help shape Area J's future for years to come."
The RDCK looks forward to engaging residents in this community conversation in 2017.
