Balfour and Kaslo Transfer Station - Temporary Closures
March 17, 2015
In the 2010 Resource Recovery Plan it was outlined that the Balfour and Kaslo transfer stations would be receiving facility upgrades. These upgrades are scheduled for 2015. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded on April 16th with construction starting May 4th and running until the last week of August. "These upgrades will improve service to the public and further align the RDCK with it’s Zero Waste goals" says Tom Newell, Chair of the Central Subregion.
Note that these facilities will need to be closed during construction, but to minimize disruption to the public the RDCK will only close one site at a time.
The intended construction dates are as follows
|Kaslo Transfer Station||May 4 - June 22|
|Balfour Transfer Station||June 22 - August 23|
We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, and appreciate your cooperation and patience during this time. If you have any questions please contact the RDCK at 250-352-6665 or check out our website at www.rdck.bc.ca.
