What are Discretionary Grants?
These grant funds are used to provide some financial assistance to local community groups and organizations for projects that provide social, economic, sporting, cultural and other benefits to our communities. The funds are raised through two sources: first from taxation of each electoral area and/or municipality and secondly, from monies received as part of the BC Hydro Grant in Lieu of Taxes. The funds raised in one area are spent on projects and organizations within that area. The disbursement of these funds is at the discretion of each Director. Please review the RDCK Board Guidelines [PDF - 70 KB] and RDCK Policy [PDF - 60 KB] for requirements regarding the Disbursement of Discretionary Grants before submitting your application.
